Spinning Sparks is the brainchild of Preston Beebe*; a composer, percussionist & Sound Artist

Spinning Sparks creates content that widens the scope of brands and blends artistry and style organically. Preston approaches cinematography with an intimate connection to the live performance space. With a comprehensive understanding of all of the subtleties involved in stagecraft, he brings the sensitivities of a composer and performer of complex pieces to their natural conclusion in compact, engaging documents. Possessing a strong sensitivity to sound, and having paid his dues in years of performance practice, education, and application he instinctively senses the dynamics, timbres, and structures of a musical piece in context. This allows him a rock-solid foundation to frame a production, capture the energy within and collect it together into a work that has vivid colors, rich textures, and dense moods in a way that is deeply cinematic. Leaving viewers with a profound experience of stimulating tones, robust images, and resonant emotions that linger long after the first viewing.

Spinning Sparks has created content for accomplished and eclectic clientele such as le Quatuor Molinari, Sixtrum, Meitar Ensemble, Quinsin Nachoff, Whim Ensemble, l’Oumigmag, l’Orchestre Philharmonique et Chœur des Mélomanes, and Delta Airlines. And recently a documentary on Steve Reich’s Drumming with percussionists Russell Hartenberger and Aiyun Huang.
